Judge Manoj Mishra found the accused guilty under Section 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marraige) of Indian Penal Code and sentenced him to three-years in jail and imposed a fine of Rs 8,000 yesterday.
Though the girl had in a statement recorded before a magistrate stated she eloped with the boy as per her will, was living with him as his wife and even had a child with him, the judge held she was a minor at the time of elopement and convicted the man.
