N Thirunavukkarasu, Erode Mahila Court Judge sentenced Rajesh (26) to life imprisonment.
He also ordered him to undergo 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment for trespassing into the house.
Both sentences will run concurrently.
The prosecution case was that Rajesh used to visit the house of his woman friend regularly. On October 21, 2014, he entered the house and asked her daughter to marry him. when she refused, he whipped out a knife and slashed a neck and fled.
Acting on a complaint from the girl, rajesh was arrested and an attempt to murder case registered against him.
