Man gets seven years in jail for raping married woman

A local court today awarded seven years imprisonment to a man for raping a woman in his village.
Additional Sessions Judge Moosa Khan also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on Mukesh Bawri who was convicted under sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to the prosecution, Bawri had raped the married woman at her house in Chandankheda village on January 4, 2013 after threatening to kill her when her husband was away for work.
The court took into consideration the witnesses' testimony and DNA report in handing down the punishment.
