The accused, identified as Avinesh, allegedly headed a gang which used to target people with huge pending electricity bills. They allegedly used to approach them by posing as BSES employees and negotiate a settlement, DCP (East) BS Gurjar said.
During interrogation, the accused said he was a former BSES employee. He was arrested after BSES staff on Tuesday made a PCR call regarding a gang conducting fake raids in the Farsh Bazar area.
