A passenger, who had missed the Ranchi-New Delhi flight and made the call, was arrested from the airport later.
According to sources, the passenger, a swimming coach, had missed the fight by a few minutes, and called up Mumbai call centre of the national carrier at 1505 hrs claiming that there was a bomb on the flight.
The flight which had taken off five minutes back at 1500 hours was called back to Ranchi and taken to isolation bay, the sources said.
Meanwhile, the airport security was also on alert and tracked the call, and located the passenger at the airport.
He was nabbed there and handed over to police, and has apparently admitted to making the hoax call.
