Man held for murdering brother over property dispute

A 39-year-old man was arrested on charges of murdering his elder brother over a property dispute near Anamalai in the district, police said today.
The incident occurred on Sunday night when the victim Jagjivanram (42), a habitual drunkard, had asked Balakrishnan to return his property document, which was in the possession of the latter for sometime, they said.
Jagjivanram had rebuked the accused, while asking for the document, which infuriated Balakrishnan, who stabbed his elder brother and put a boulder on his head, killing him on the spot, police said.
A case was registered and the accused was arrested while he was trying to escape in a bus yesterday, they said.
