A 25-year-old man has been taken into custody here on the charge of smuggling suspected narcotic substance through the Cochin International Airport here, officials of the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) said on Saturday.
The Qatar-bound passenger from Malappuram districtwas stopped at the airport after they detected 2 kg of crystal-like substance concealed in his bag, they said.
Since the substance was suspected to be narcotic, it has been sent for a lab test only after which it can be confirmed, they said, adding that the passenger has been detained.
