Man held with gold bars

A man was today caught by Assam Rifles personnel today for illegal possession of gold bars worth more than Rs two crore during frisking at Khudengthabi check post in Tengnoupal district, a Customs official said.
The man was coming from the Indo-Myanmar border town of Moreh in Manipur and was heading for the state capital in a van.
SP Luwang of the Moreh-based Custom Preventive Force told media the gold bars were estimated at Rs 2.81 crore.
