A man was Saturday arrested from Taloja in Raigad district with a pistol and five cartridges during a combing operation as part of Lok Sabha poll security, police said.
He was identified as Harjyot Maktar Singh, originally hailing from Amritsar in Punjab, and is an accused in an earlier electricity transformer oil theft case, an official said.
Singh was charged under the Arms Act and has been remanded in police custody till March 26, he added.
