A 28-year-old man was allegedly abducted and shot dead by Maoists, who suspected him to be a police informer, in Telangana's Khammam district, police said today.
M Balakrishna, a farm labourer, was kidnapped on Sunday from his village Tippapuram.
His body bearing firearm injuries was found lying on a roadside on the outskirts of Ankannagudem of Venkatapuram mandal of Khammam last night, Venkatapuram Circle Inspector Narendra told PTI over phone.
"He was shot in the head. Maoists killed him branding him as a police informer," he said.
A case was registered in this regard while further probe is on, he added.
