The incident took place this evening when Vikas was welding the tanker, they said.
While Vikas died on the spot, the driver of the tanker, Amit, was rushed to a hospital in serious condition, police said.
In a separate incident, two men, aged between 22 to 24 years, were this evening crushed to death by a truck on Purkazi-Laksar road here, police said.
The two victims were riding a motorcycle which collided with the truck.
