Man killed in mysterious explosion

A 29-year-old man died in a mysterious explosion in Anandnagar locality on Basmatnagar Road here today, police said.
The victim, Atul Bhagwan Waghmare, a teacher at Yogeshwari Polytechnic College in Ambejogai tehsil of Beed district, died of severe burns in the explosion that took place around 10 am today, Parbhani Superintendent of Police Anant Rokade told PTI.
Atul had come to meet his brother Amol. However, when the explosion took place, Amol and his room partners had gone out for breakfast and Atul was alone there, he added.
"Atul died of severe burns following the explosion inside the room. The neighbours heard some sound and later saw smoke billowing out of the room, following which they rushed to the scene. However, it is still not known how the explosion took place as we have not found any explosive material, chemicals, etc at the site," Rokade said.

An ATS squad from Aurangabad had been called for investigation, he said.
