Accused Chandrashekhar Pandey (30) hit his mother Indumati on the head in a fit of rage as she delayed serving food to him, killing her on the spot, police said.
The family members and villagers caught Pandey and handed him over to police, they said, adding that a case has been lodged on the complaint of the husband of the deceased.
The youth has often been involved in tiffs with family members, police added.
