A 32-year-old man allegedly killed his wife before committing suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Bhankhrota area of the city, police said today.
It is suspected that Raju slit his wife's throat with a sharp object last night, DCP (west) Ashok Gupta said, adding that the man then locked the room from outside and hanged himself from a tree.
The matter came to light when a local spotted the body hanging on the tree and he informed the police about it, the DCP said.
The bodies were taken to SMS hospital for postmortem, Gupta said, adding that a probe into the matter is underway.
