Acting on a tip off, Ajay Kumar Misra alias A K Chauhan, a native of Amethi, was arrested this afternoon from Naka police station area here, a Special Task Force (STF) release said.
Misra confessed to have made phone calls to Chief Medical Officers (CMO) and Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of various districts posing as OSD to state health minister Ahmed Hassan and seeking information on his e-mail ID, it said.
He used to make phone calls to doctors with the aim of taking undue favours, it said, adding that he was approached by many doctors for transfers.
One mobile phone, cheque book and two debit cards were recovered from his possession.
