Man, paramour sentenced to 10 yrs RI each

A Mahila court today sentenced a man and his paramour to 10 years rigourous imprisonment each for abetting the suicide of his wife in 2013.
The prosecution case was that Selvam (28), a resident of Moolakadai in the district, had been having a physical relationship with a woman, despite repeated warnings from his wife to refrain from it. Frustrated, she hanged herself to death at her home on September 9 2013.
The duo were arrested the next day on a complaint by neighbours.
Erode District Mahila Court judge N Thirunavukkarasu today sentenced them to 10 years RI each for abetting the suicide of the woman.
