The impostor, identified as Satyendra Prakash Chaturvedi had allegedly made a call to the DIG office, last Thursday, posing to be an IAS officer posted at Prime Minister's Office, Circle Officer Mukul Dwivedi said.
Chaturvedi enquired about action taken into the case of alleged slapping and kicking of a forest staff in Mala forest range of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve by Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, he said.
Chaturvedi threated the person on phone when he refused about to give any information about the case and again made a call to DIG's PRO and scolded him, the CO said.
Police also recovered two mobile phones, used in the crime, from his possession, he said, adding, Chaturvedi was booked under relevant sections of IPC and sent to jail today.
Chaturvedi was earlier arrested in January for impersonating as secretary to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, the officer said.
