Man run over by train near Ambala

A resident of Uttar Pradesh was killed after being run over by a train at Barara Railway Station near here today, the police said.

The deceased identified as Vinod Kumar (38) was crossing a railway track when the accident occurred, the Railway Police said.

He had reached Barara from Saharanpur (UP) this morning along with his two minor sons and was waiting for a train for Ambala Cantt.

Vinod used to visit PGIMER at Chandigarh as his four-year-old son was getting treatment from there for the last one year, the police said.

The body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem, the police said.
