The man has been identified as Shrimad Raut of Odisha's Gopalpur district who was on his way to Haridwar, they said.
He was found to be dead in the train yesterday by other passengers who informed the police about it.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, officials said.
Police have informed Raut's family about his death, officials said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
