Man's body recovered in UP; Locals demand immediate arrest

Body of a 35-year-old man was today recovered near Sai river in Khumbhapur here, following which locals went on a rampage demanding the arrest of the accused in the connection, police said.
The deceased, Ramesh Verma, was found this morning in Khumbhapur. Agitated villagers torched house of the village head, police said here.
The locals are accusing the husband of the village head in connection with the alleged murder, thereby causing damage to her property, they said.
The police had to use mild force in a bid to control the situation.
The agitated villagers damaged a fire brigade vehicle and torched a few motorcycles, besides blocking the road, they said.

After four hours of efforts, the villagers were pacified and the body was sent for post mortem, it said.
