The body, which was spotted by a passerby this morning has been claimed by a family who has recognised the deceased as 50-year-old Sher Singh, ACP Chomu Pratap Ram Meena said, adding, the identification of the body is on.
According to the family, Sher Singh was missing from home since September 6 and that they have identified him based on the clothes he wore the last time they saw him as the face was beyond recognition, ACP said.
The initial investigation indicate that the deceased, who hailed from Bhind in Madhya Pradesh, was a habitual drunkard and it is suspected he might have fallen in the drain, police said, adding, nothing can be confirmed till full identification of the body is done.
