Amit (32), hailing from Palwal, had reported pain in his chest while having dinner about 15 days back.
He was rushed to the nearby hospital where the doctor, after preliminary test, advised that he be taken to a hospital equipped with all facilities.
His family rushed him to the Asian Superspeciality Hospital at Faridabad. However, when he was only a few kilometres from the hospital, Amit lost his breath and his heartbeat stopped.
The doctors then undertook angiography on him and found a blockage in his artery. While the doctors were taking care of his heart, his blood circulation was also interrupted and one of his kidneys stopped functioning.
Due to his young age, doctors decided not to insert a stent in his artery, Dr Akhiri said, adding that Amit was discharged after 10 days of medication and treatment and is well now.
