A Champai district court convicted a resident of Ngur village for raping a minor girl and sentenced him to 10 years rigorous imprisonment, court officials today.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 9,000 on the convict, Khamsavunga, the court officials said.
The officials also said that Judge R Vanlalena pronounced the judgement yesterday after announcing that Khamsavunga was found guilty of committing the crime.
Khamsavunga had raped the minor girl on December 10, 2014, while she was alone at her home.
