Man sentenced to 10 year' RI in dowry death case

The fast track court - II judge Vikram Singh passed the order sentencing the accused Manoranjan Kumar to 10 years' RI after convicting him for the death of his wife Supriya Devi.

According to prosecution, Kumar had strangulated his wife to death at their house in Shivnagar locality under Town police station area on October 20, 2010, after her parents had failed to meet his dowry demand of Rs. One lakh and a motorcycle.

Supriya's father Vikram Jha had lodged a case against his son in-law charging him with the murder of his daughter for dowry.
