Kitboklang Kharsyntiew was sentenced to jail by POSCO special judge A M Ripnar who convicted him of the crime on February 11.
He was tried under various sections of POSCO Act and also slapped with a fine of Rs 5000 for the crime committed on February 6, 2013.
In case of inability to pay the fine, the man would undergo an additional month behind the bars.
