Man sentenced to seven years RI for raping minor

Kendrapara Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ambuj Mohan Das convicted 28-year-old Satrughna Jena yesterday and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000.
Failure to pay the fine would entail an additional six months imprisonment.
The court pronounced the verdict on the basis of circumstantial evidence, medical examination findings and cross-examination of 12 witnesses.
Das had raped the girl on January 4, 2006 in Sapalanga village under Rajkanika police station when she was alone at home.
