The incident took place at around 4 AM at Debendra Chandra Dey road when the four miscreants fired gun shots at the person.
According to police, the attack was a result of infighting among people belonging to a construction syndicate of the area.
"Three bullets missed the person but a bullet hit his left leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital and we are investigating the matter," a senior officer of Kolkata Police's Anti-Rowdy Section said.
Brushing aside the police's claims of infighting, the family members of the man said that he was attacked for his protest against anti-social practices in the area few weeks back.
