The incident took place last night when Tule Ram was sleeping. The assailants entered the house through the roof, and fired at Ram as he woke hearing some noise.
Police said Ram was rushed to a local hospital by his neighbours who reached the house hearing the shot. The assailants, however, managed to flee. His condition was stated to be stable this evening.
A case has been registered and further investigations are on to identify the assailants and find out their motive, a police officer said.
