The victim, identified as Sandeep Mokhra and an accused in a case, was currently out on bail and had come to Jind for a court hearing, DSP (Headquarter) Virender Singh Dalal said.
Three men dressed as lawyers suddenly opened fire at Sandeep outside the court complex and fled from the spot leaving him dead, he said.
A case has been registered against unidentified accused and hunt is on to nab them, Dalal said.
