The accused sodomised the boy residing in his neighbourhood from August 2014 till last month at his home in Sawarkar Nagar area of the city by calling him on some pretext, Vartak Nagar police station sub-inspector Sayli Chavan said.
He also allegedly used to make the boy watch objectionable content on his mobile phone, she said quoting the complaint filed by the victim's mother last night.
The accused threatened the boy of throwing him out of the balcony of his house if he informed about the offence to anybody, she said.
Based on the complaint, police registered offences against the accused under sections 377 (unnatural offences) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act, Chavan said.
A probe is on in the case, based on which further action would be taken, she added.
