Man suspected of murdering nine persons held

A person, who allegedly bludgeoned nine persons to death using stones in separate incidents over an eight year period from 2007, was today arrested here, police said.
Police said the nine persons were allegedly bludgeoned to death by the man, Kunjumon in separate incidents here from 2007 to 2015.
Homeless people sleeping on the roadside were his target.
Kunjumon, hailing from Thevara near here, allegedly hit the head of the people using heavy stones as they woke up when he tried to rob them.
He is reportedly a drug addict.
He was caught after one of his room mates - Unnikrishnan- was allegedly killed in the same manner last year, police said.

Police said it used scientific methods, including help of psychologists and forensic officials, in cracking the case.
