The incident occurred at around 11 pm yesterday when Daya Shankar was riding his motorbike home after buying some items from a local shop and was stopped by six men, they said.
When he blew horn for a pass, the men didn't move and when he tried again one from the group came near his bike and allegedly threw away his ignition keys, said a police officer.
When Daya Shankar objected, the group allegedly attacked him. A few men called by the group also joined them. Later, they all fled away.
Efforts are on to identify the accused men and enquiries are being made to gather more information about the incident, the officer added.
