Man throws acid on family members, 7 injured

In a fit of anger, a man allegedly threw acid on seven of his family members, including four daughters, at Dhirkuti slum here today.
According to police, the man, identified as Sura Behera, was asked by his wife to take their daughter, who was suffering from fever, to hospital when, in a fit of rage, he allegedly threw acid.
His two wives, four daughters and father-in-law sustained burn injuries and had to be hospitalised, the police said.
Behera was arrested but he denied the charge, alleging that his father-in-law Banamali Behera threw the acid on his wives and daughters.
Investigations are underway, police said, adding, family dispute is suspected to be reason behind the crime.
