Man tied to a tree, beaten to death for stealing coconuts

A man was beaten to death at Bhayli village near here for merely stealing some coconuts, police said today.
He was identified as Ramesh Puniabhai Dangi (24). The incident took place last night.
Inspector P F Makrani of Vadodara rural police said that police had arrested two men, Kamlesh Patel and Mukesh Mali, in this connection.
Makrani said that last night Patel and his servant Mali caught Dangi while stealing coconuts on Patel's farm. They tied Dangi to a tree and beat him.
Later they went to the police station and informed that they had tied a thief to a tree.

Police went to the spot, took Dangi to a hospital, but he was declared brought dead. Patel and Mali were arrested.
