Manipur govt, Dance Academy pay tribute to Nehru

As part of nation-wide celebration of 126th birth anniversary of ountry's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, the social welfare department government of Manipur and Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy organised separate functions at different places in the state today.
The social welfare department, government of Manipur in its office premises, here today organised a painting competition for the children, to mark the 126th birth anniversary of Chacha Nehru, a press release issued by Social Welfare Department of Manipur government said.
In Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, a colourful function was held with people paying floral tributes to Nehru, founder of the Academy, a press release issued by the Director of the Academy said.

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) also celebrated the day as the closing function of one year long 125th Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Anniversary at Congress Bhavan, here, where Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and the Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, also the President of Manipur PCC, spoke.
