Manoj Kohli resigns from Bharti Airtel board

Bharti Enterprises’ managing director (MD) Manoj Kohli has resigned from the board of Bharti Airtel. In a filing to the BSE, Bharti Airtel said Kohli had resigned as non-executive director. Airtel said Shishir Priyadarshi had been appointed as an independent director.

Kohli had led the telecom business of Bharti in various roles since 2002. He had led Bharti Airtel's India operations for eight years, during which the customer base grew from one million to 140 million. He moved to Africa in 2010. Kohli gave up MD and chief executive of Airtel's international business to take over as MD of Bharti Enterprises in April 2014.

Since then he has been involved in retail, financial services, agri-products, real estate, Bharti SoftBank business.
