Bhasker alias Ravi alias Sukhdev (40) is a Maoist Khammam district committee member working for its Special Guerrilla Squad, while his wife Shyamala alias Sunitha (30) is a district committee member, Warangal Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishore Jha said.
He said that Bhaskar is a native of Thupakulagudem in Eturunagaram mandal who studied upto fifth class and was attracted to the then CPI-Marxist Leninist-Peoples' War Group (as the CPI-Maoist used to be known earlier), and joined the outlawed organisation in 1999.
In 2004, Shyamala, who hails from Chatthisgarh state, came to Venkatapur in Khammam district and they got married, he said.
Around 14 cases were booked against Bhaskar in Eturunagaram, Pasra, Tadvai and Mangapet police stations. He was allegedly involved in incidents of opening fire in Ailapur and Maqnoor.
Allegedly, he and his wife involved in a murder case in Rajannapet village of Eturunagaram mandal. In 2012, they also allegedly murdered homeguard N Naresh at Parnashala of Bhadrachalam, he said.
Jha said that all underground Maoists should join the mainstream of the society and lead a peaceful life.
He said that the Rs 5 lakh reward on the head of surrendered Maoist A Bhaskar would be given to Shyamala, according to the Chhattisgarh government's guidelines.
