Acting on intelligence inputs, BSF personnel had launched a search operation in Turukupadu and Matawalsa reserve forests on Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border under Pottangi police station jurisdiction, said DIG (BSF), J C Nayak.
Five country-made guns, 200 grams of gun powder, iron rods and gun-making materials were also seized from the site during the operation conducted on Sunday, he said.
The unit was suspected to have been in operation for quite some time, said a senior police official adding that search operation has been intensified in the area after the busting of the unit.
