Not satisfied with the reply by Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe, members from the treasury benches demanded disbanding of a commission, set up to study the issue.
NCP legislator Vinayak Mete, raising the issue through a calling attention motion, said the commission, formed three years ago, should be disbanded as it was yet to submit its report.
"The survey done by the commission is against reservations for Maratha community. The survey covered only 20 districts. Entire state should be covered. Hari Narke, a member of the commission, is totally biased," Mete alleged.
Moghe said that the state had not accepted this finding. At present, another committee, headed by Industries Minister Narayan Rane, is studying the issue.
