Marginal fall in Reliance Power's Q3 profit at Rs 254.44 cr

Reliance Power today reported a 4.8 per cent fall in net profit at Rs 254.44 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 267.22 crore in the corresponding period of the last financial year, Reliance Power said in a statement.

Total income rose to Rs 1,827 crore for the period under review from Rs 1,484 crore in the same period last fiscal.

On stand alone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs 6.7 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014 where as the same was at Rs 30.27 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2013.

Total income on standalone basis is Rs 86.34 crore for period as against Rs 75.46 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2013.

Total operating capacity of the company is now nearly 6,000 MW.

"With the synchronisation of the 6th unit of 660 MW this month, the entire 3,960 MW capacity at Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project located in Madhya Pradesh is now operational," the statement said.

The Rosa Power plant in Uttar Pradesh generated 2,169 million units (MUs), Butibori plant in Maharashtra, generated 973 MUs, the 40 MW Dhursar solar photo-voltaic plant in Rajasthan generated 17.15 MUs and 45 MW wind capacity in Vashpet, Maharashtra generated 7.85 MUs.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 59.20, up 0.08 per cent on the BSE on Friday.
