Marginal rise in mercury in HP

Cold wave conditions persisted in higher hills and tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh even as mercury rose marginally across the state.
Keylong in the tribal Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest in the region with minimum temperature at minus 5.7 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa in the tribal Kinnaur district and key tourist resort of Manali recorded a low of 2.4 deg C, followed by Bhuntar 6.4 deg, Sundernagar and Solan 8.4 deg and Palampur 9.0 deg C respectively, two to three degree below normal.
Shimla was warmer at night with mercury 10.2 degree, four degrees above normal while Nahan was the hottest during the night with a low of 13.3 deg C, followed by Una 12.6 deg and Dharamsala 12.2 deg C respectively.
Una was the hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 31.4 deg, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high of 29.6 deg and 28.0 degree, four degrees above normal.
Solan recorded maximum temperature at 25.7 deg C while Nahan was pleasant during the day with a high of 25.1 deg C followed by Dharamsala 23.4 deg, Shimla 20.5 deg and Kalpa 10. 6 degree.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the state for next four days and rains and thunderstorms at isolated places from March 23 onwards due to a fresh Western Disturbance affecting the Western Himalayan region.
