Mouser is taking over the role as the character of Karen Grant is expanded in the fourth season, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Karen Grant was first seen visiting her parents President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) and Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) while on an excursion from boarding school in season three.
A family tragedy for the Grants could see Karen begin to act out when she returns to 'Scandal' in an October episode.
Mouser notably portrayed Dana Delany's on-screen daughter Lacey Fleming in 'Body of Proof'.
