Max Healthcare is supporting the event with seven Advanced Cardiac Life Support ambulances and over 150 doctors, medical emergency specialists, paramedics and nurses manning the Base Stations and Medical Stations covering the 21km route.
The ambulances are fully equipped with state-of-the-art life support systems which are managed by a remote command center using the latest Medical Dispatch protocols.
The two medical base stations and the six medical stations will be manned by a team of emergency medical professionals who have the experience of handling such large scale events.
Patients from various hospitals of Max Healthcare, who have undergone joint replacement, cancer therapy, neuro surgery or cardiac surgery, were present at the training session.
One such patient was 22-year-old Varun Dixit.
One year back, running, infact walking properly, was a dream for him. In December 2012, he approached Dr Akhilesh Yadav, joint specialist and replacement surgeon at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Patparganj with an injury in the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee.
Due to this problem, he was facing a difficulty in walking as his knee used to protrude out and pain a lot on every step he took. The doctors re-created the ligament using a graft from his body and Varun was discharged soon.
When the registrations for the ADHM were announced, he consulted the doctor and took his advise if he could run at the Marathon. Tomorrow, Varun's dream will come true when he will run at the marathon.
