As maximum temperatures hovered close to normal limits, UT Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states, recorded a high of 34.7 degrees Celsius, according to the MeT Department here.

In Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar and Karnal recorded maximum temperatures of 35.5 degrees Celsius, 35.8 degrees Celsius, 36.6 degrees Celsius and 32.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 35.5 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 35.2 degrees Celsius and 35.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
