Ambala in Haryana also recorded a temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius, while Hisar's maximum settled three notches below normal at 39.6 degrees Celsius.
Karnal recorded maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal. In Narnaul, the temperature settled five notches below normal at 36.5 degrees Celsius.
Ludhiana recorded a high of 39 degrees Celsius, down one notch against normal.
Patiala registered 39.5 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal while Amritsar 38.4 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
