Maximum temperatures rise in Punjab and Haryana

Sultry weather prevailed in Chandigarh, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.1 deg C, up two notches, the MeT department said.
Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 36 deg C, up three degrees, while Hisar and Rohtak registered above normal maximums at 35.1 deg C and 34.5 deg C respectively.
Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded identical maximum temperatures of 34.6 deg C while Amritsar recorded a high of 35 deg C.
The MeT has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers at a few places in the two states over the next two days.
