"The prime minister claims that all the decision taken in the one month of his government were in national interest and if so why have they gone against the interest of people, like rail and freight fare hikes and opposition to appointment of Gopal Subramanium to the SC," Mayawati said.
Referring to the blog by Modi on completion of one month, Mayawati in a statement said, as he (Modi) has also criticised the opponents, her party was forced to give its reaction.
"The question here is why Modi's national interest is in clash with the interest of people and justice", she alleged.
"Though a promise had been made to give relief from inflation and corruption to 125 crore people of the country, the government does not appear to be strict and effective on these counts", she said.
Mayawati said that this also gives credence to the allegation that BJP has always been "soft" with black marketeers and hoarders.
"It is a well-known fact that the economic policy of both Congress and BJP were wrong and anti-poor and supports big capitalists and rich who have increased poverty, unemployment and corruption", she alleged, adding BJP government has so quickly "surpassed" the Congress government in making the lives of people "more difficult".
