Speaking at a conference here, the mayors said that alternative ways and means for the service delivery need to be developed so that services can be made more effective and accessible to people.
Nirmal Nahata, Mayor of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) said that discussions on the present condition of the Urban Local Bodies were going on at various levels in the state government and the government was taking good decisions for empowering the boards.
Kota Mayor Mahesh Vijayvargiya said that developmental works gets affected due to lack of manpower therefore the vacant posts in municipalities should be filled timely.
Mayors of other cities, former deputy chairman of the state planning board of Rajasthan Prof VS Vyas also participated in the conference organised by CUTS International here.
Other issues related with the local bodies were discussed in the conference.
