The MC also recovered a fine of around Rs 35,000 from them, a spokesman of the corporation said today.
He said that displaying such advertisements in an unauthorised manner is considered a violation under provisions of the Haryana Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1989.
This drive would continue against the erring firms, the spokesman said .
A team of the municipal corporation regularly removes the advertisements that are allegedly displayed in violation of the Act and later issues notices to the advertisers, he said.
"Action will be taken as per law against them once their replies are received," he said.
While giving details about the Haryana Municipal Corporation's bylaws, the spokesman said that for displaying advertisements, all the traders, land-building owners, institutions and shopkeepers have to register with the corporation.
This registration would be valid for six years, he said.
