The external affairs ministry is planning to set up "India corners" at educational institutes abroad that will provide reference material about India to students, the ministry's spokesperson said today.
"We are soon setting up India corners in educational institutes abroad. We are in the process of identifying libraries in the institutes abroad where this can be set up. The India corner will comprise a set of books on different aspects of India which we will be presented to that library and it will be displayed there," MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said while responding to questions #Askthespokesperson series.
He said that the idea behind this initiative is to provide the students good reference material to know more about India.
Several questions were posed to Kumar by people through Twitter on a wide range of topics from India's policy towards Maldives and Pakistan to his job as the MEA spokesperson.
Questions were also asked about how a Memorandum Of Understanding is signed between two countries, how to become a diplomat and what is the best reading material on foreign affairs while preparing for the Union Public Service Commission that recruits IAS, IPS and IFS officers.
